Paradigm Plumbing and Heating installs Rinnai On Demand Water Heaters - Our Clients receive a Tax Credit :)

Federal Tax Credits Extended for 2011

The Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization, and Job Creation Act of 2010 signed by President Obama on December 17, 2010, extended tax credits for qualifying energy-efficient, residential water heaters and boilers placed in service between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011. The structure is similar to the 2009-2010 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, however, the credit amount has changed. Water heaters are still required to have an energy factor >= 0.82 or a thermal efficiency >= 90%, and boilers must have an AFUE >= 95.

Effective Dates

January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011.

Product Qualifications and Credit Amount
  • Product: Tankless Water Heaters
  • Qualifications: Energy factor (EF) >= 0.82
  • Credit Amount: $300
  • All current Rinnai condensing and non-condensing tankless water heaters qualify with the exception of the R98LS
  • Product: Boilers
  • Qualifications: AFUE >= 95
  • Credit Amount: $150
  • All Rinnai condensing wall-mounted boilers qualify
Guidelines
  • The Rinnai tankless water heater or boiler must be “placed in service” between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2011. The IRS defines "placed in service" as when the product is ready and available for use.
  • The Rinnai tankless water heater or boiler must be installed in or on the taxpayers’ principal residence in the United States.
  • The tax credit is ONLY available for existing homes.
  • There is an overall cap of $500 for fiscal years 2006 – 2011 combined. If you have ever claimed this credit in the past, it counts toward the $500 cap (but does not affect the $1500 limit available for 2009 and 2010). So, for example, if you claimed $300 in 2007, you can only claim $200 in 2011; if you claimed $800 in 2009, you cannot claim any more credit.
How to Claim Your Tax Credit for 2011
  • Purchase and install a qualifying Rinnai tankless water heater or boiler between Jan. 1, 2011 - Dec. 31, 2011
  • Save your proof of purchase along with a copy of the 2011 Manufacturer’s Certification Statement (available soon).
  • When filing your 2011 taxes, use IRS Form 5695 (2011 version) - it will be available late 2011 or early 2012. Consult a tax professional for further details.

    The Cookie Thief

    A woman was waiting at an airport one night,

    With several long hours before her flight.

    She hunted for a book in the airport shop,

    Bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop.

    She was engrossed in her book, but happened to see,

    That the man beside her, as bold as could be,

    Grabbed a cookie or two from the bag between,

    Which she tried to ignore, to avoid a scene.

    She read, munched cookies, and watched the clock,

    As the gutsy “cookie thief” diminished her stock.

    She was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by,

    Thinking, “If I wasn’t so nice, I’d blacken his eye!”

    With each cookie she took, he took one too.

    When only one was left, she wondered what he’d do.

    With a smile on his face and a nervous laugh,

    He took the last cookie and broke it in half.

    He offered her half, as he ate the other.

    She snatched it from him and thought, “Oh, brother,

    This guy has some nerve, and he’s also rude,

    Why, he didn’t even show – any gratitude!”

    She had never known when she has been so galled,

    And sighed with relief when her flight was called.

    She gathered her belongings and headed for the gate,

    Refusing to look back at the “thieving ingrate.”

    She boarded the plane and sank in her seat,

    Then sought her book, which was almost complete.

    As she reached in her bag, she gasped with surprise;

    There was HER bag of cookies in front of her eyes!

    “If mine are here,” she moaned with despair,

    “Then the others were HIS and he tried to share!”

    Too late to apologize, she realized with grief,

    That she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief!

    Hello Debbie,

    I wanted to take a few moments to thank you for you  referrals for Handy-man services for The Upper Room.  I have had the great pleasure of working with Steve – Paradigm Co.  and his associate who provides the Handy-Man services to Paradigm customers.  Steve’s company has been extremely responsive to our needs.  Our projects are not very large, however they are necessary; and it is difficult to find a business to respond in the way that Paradigm has.  They came right over and completed the tasks on my list that were immediate; and we have a plan for them to return once the good weather hits to finish the list.  I really appreciate not only their fast service, but their sensitivity to our budget as a non profit – by repairing things as inexpensively as possible and with no wasted time.  I have been in this role for many years and the building/maintenance component to operating a non profit agency can be very taxing and take away from other, human services needs.  To have a trusting and compassionate Handy-man service such as Paradigm available, this often,  very heavy burden feels much lighter  now.

    Thank you again for your assistance in finding Paradigm!
